The scariest thing about this virus is that almost everyone has been infected

It is the brick that builds the wall between your soul and the Grace of God.

HIV!

Attacks the body’s defense against other diseases. It does not kill you. It simply ensures that other diseases will.

Reminds me of another extremely deadly entity that behaves exactly the same way, not to the body but to the soul — along with the attendant eternal consequences that come with the territory — and with way more devastating effects

PRIDE!

...the HIV of the soul.

It DESTROYS YOU by pitting you against God, cutting you off from Grace, hence freeing up other sins to eat you up UNCHALLENGED.

Simply put:

No grace, no immunity against sin, death, in all his facets, becomes unstoppable!

“For Sin shall not have dominion over You” Why?

Because you are not reliant on your self-will nor moral instincts, regardless of how informed they might ever be, but on the Will and Power of God who is in you both to WILL and to DO according to the Righteousness of his nature IN CHRIST JESUS, IN YOU.

Pride is the ONLY sin that attacks that Spiritual immunity against Sin, just like HIV does to your body's immunity again diseases.

Pride is the brick that builds the wall between your soul and the Grace of God.

Take heed and beware of this Virus brethren

I’ll say it again:

TAKE HEED!

Our ONLY defense against the pride virus remains to bow to the verdict of the Cross of Christ — deny self:

"Oh! Man by thyself art thou nothing, knowest nothing, hath nothing and canst do nothing". And Oh man, that verdict is absolutely ABSOLUTE!”

Unto such a soul as this is the Grace of God richly poured. For only such a soul both feel the need for God’s absolute help as well as the constraint to give him thanks for all things.

Supplication and Thanksgiving

How many times do we find ourselves dependent on the grace and mercy of God, such that we can’t stop praying for his presence, his help, and his mercy?

The amount of times we seek God for his help with everything is a really fine metrics with which to measure how proud or humble we are. These things are neither random nor ambiguous. We can tell that we are proud or not if we want to. All we have to do is look at the degree of our individual dependence on God, expressed in how much we pray for his help in every little thing we are involved with, and we can tell with near absolute certainty, not only that we are proud, but also how proud we are.

In the same way, we can also tell by the measure of thanks-given we offer to God about the same little things.

Supplication and Thanksgiving are a great way to measure pride in our hearts.

Self-dependence and self-confidence…

…delude us into thinking we have things covered and hence don’t need God in realtime. They also make us forget to acknowledge him hence making us into cruel ingrates and robbers who slap our names on that which is solely God’s praise.

Do take heed Pilgrims!

DO TAKE HEED!!

DENY YOUR SELF!

OF YOURSELF, YOU CAN DO NOTING!
TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART!

Lean NOT on your own self.

Utterly abandon your own understanding! Utterly! It is of no use.

Acknowledge him in EVERYTHING thing, both great and small, and he will have you guaranteed in his mercy and grace.

As it stands, you want to do some self-examination, for you might already have been infected with this spiritual but more deadly “HIV”.

Below is a very powerful video by Angel Motivation where Narrator Gibbs clearly paints a really good picture of the grim matrix of pride. I pray the Spirit of God opens the eye of the humble to the danger of this terrible virus, and to the need to pray without ceasing — to always pray in the spirit and not faint.
